Burglars are understood to have broken into Everton winger Andy van der Meyde's house when he was taking part in Howard Kendall's testimonial against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday - and they escaped with a ã12,000 necklace, eight Rolex watches, his Ferrari, his BMW Mini Cooper and his pet dog Mac. His Ferrari has since been found. The 26-year-old Dutchman was taken to hospital last week after claiming his drinks had been spiked on a night out and was fined by the Toffees for socialising two days before a match. (The Guardian)
